I just finished the audio book Daemon by Daniel Suarez and really enjoyed it. It is a technological thriller with a Internet-based villain. If you’re interested in Internet and computer technology and like a good, action packed read, this won’t disappoint. I don’t listen to many audio books, but I thought this production was a great way to consume this book.
This is from an interesting BBC show titled “The Story of the Guitar.” Turn up the volume (you’ll notice on the video app it goes to 11).
Sing like no one is watching.
The brilliant, sardonic web comic Get Your War On by David Rees is available as a complete series in paperback. I don’t own this yet, but I will. Also, Get Your War On II.
Get the NSFW flavor with this video version, originally produced by the Huffington Post, but no longer on their site (?!?).
The iPhone has ushered in the era of the touch screen and multi-touch. In the years to come, I suspect multi-touch will be as ubiquitous as the mouse is today. 10/GUO is a well thought-out vision of a multi-touch computing interface.
The Avett Brother’s new album “I and Love and You” is a masterpiece. There, I said it.
Before you read on you really should hear it for yourself. Understand, its gets better with repeat listens, so go now go buy it and then come back again.
See? This is a great album. I just listened to it again with shuffle turned on (happy accident) and liked it even more. This album feels like home.
Scott and Seth Avett, along with bassist Bob Crawford, are the best americana/roots/folk/country (whatever) songwriters working. And all the reports say their live shows are amazing. Apparently they can’t find Minnesota on the map, so I haven’t seen them yet. Please, guys if you’re reading this, get your asses up to Minnesota pronto.
Something crazy, cosmic even, would have to happen for this not to be my album of the year.
