NASA’s Artemis 1 launch was long delayed, but the new Space Launch System (SLS) finally delivered the Orion spacecraft to the moon’s orbit earlier this month. Space fans like me adore the high definition visuals captured by the cadre of private videographers that are now filming every launch from every provider. I’ve only witnessed one launch myself, ULA’s GPS IIF-12 on February 5, 2016, and it was from a beach-side hotel balcony many miles from Cape Canaveral. We saw the rocket and could hear some faint rumbles. At the top of my bucket list is to see, hear and feel a big rocket launch up close. This video is a great teaser of the full effect. Headphones recommended.
